eighth blackbird rehearsing at BSU

eighth blackbird opened the annual BSU New Music Festival with their usual high level of artistry and imaginative concert presentation. Performing works by Higdon, Fitzell, Mackey, Beeferman, and Schwantner, the group doesn’t shy away from difficulty or length (clocking in at just under two hours). They rate a permanent must see/hear recommendation from me, and a great group of people to get to know.

While my daughter thought that the concert was “lonnngg,” she still proudly displays her personal merchandise acquisition from the evening. It’s a must-have for every 7-yr-old new music fan.
